DALLAS MUSIC CONCERTS
The Dallas area Muzik Concerts and Shows have been scheduled for the December 10-12th. Not only was Ol’ Dirty a founding member of the group, but more significantly he was part of the triumvirate of cousins that formed the actual clan element of the Wu, along with RZA and GZA.
Before we go any further, you should consider that I once made the case that Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s death was culturally more significant than Elliott Smith’s the previous year,
which has always earned a lot of dinner party groans. But ODB is one of those rare artists that completely embodied a focus and dedication to always being
absolutely who he truly was: on and off the stage, on and off the street, on and off the record.
Lest we forget, Ol’ Dirty was crashing the stage at awards shows and making grand statements long before Kanye was. His ability to score hit records in spite
of the fact that his albums often featured an abrasive and sometimes unintelligible MC style, furthers the point that he was one of the most extreme recording
artists of the past fifty years to repeatedly make contact with the mainstream and never adding gloss to his original vision.
